Dennis Landes and Kenneth Bowman partner to buy the farm from Orville Bowman so he could permanently move to California. Bowman & Landes Turkeys is officially founded in 1948.
Installed one of the first automatic electric feed processing machines to mix and grind our own turkey feed. To compliment the new feed processing equipment, B&L purchased a grain dryer and their first John Deere combine to shell corn in the field.
An addition to the turkey harvesting plant was built as well as a new cooler and freezer for turkey storage. Additionally, Bowman and Landes converted their grain dryer to electric and received a rural electrification award for using electric power rather than gas or diesel power.
Carl Bowman (son of Kenneth Bowman) and Stan Landes (son of Dennis Landes) joined Bowman & Landes as second generation owners. Added 7,200 square feet to our existing turkey harvest plant for a retail store and further processing area. The 1970's included the addition of boneless turkey roasts, ground turkey and turkeys burgers as new products.
Procured tumblers and commercial oven/smokehouse and began producing cooked turkey products.
Steve Landes (son of Dennis Landes) joined as a second generation owner. Added 20,000 square feet to existing meat processing facility for additional harvesting, further processing, storage space and a new dock.

Anita Bowman Hamber (Kenneth's daughter) joins the business as a second generation owner. Bowman & Landes' first 50,000 kilowatt solar array is also installed on a turkey barn roof.
Completed the addition of a new turkey grow out barn and installed a 2nd 80,000 kilowatt solar array on a turkey barn roof.
Completed construction on a new 26,000 USDA inspected meat facility. The facility includes the ability to produce both raw and cooked meat products. Additionally, the new space includes a new cooler, freezer and packaging rooms for raw and cooked meat products.
